My name is tiffany and I'm the person behind @fodmapfiend! I was diagnosed with IBS in September 2015 after I was battling really bad stomach cramps and nausea for months. The pain and constant illness became overbearing and I really wanted to make a change! My doctor prescribed me with a prescription drug called Colofac which helps reduce IBS symptoms but I was told to only use it when it was reeeeaaalllyyy necessary. To me, I found this stupid as I wanted to have my symptoms gone 24/7, not only when they were excruciatingly bad. So I decided to do some research and see if I could change my diet and lifestyle. Luckily, I found the FODMAP diet! I've been on the diet since the 9th of September 2015, and let me tell you, my bloating, nausea and cramps have DISSAPEARED! like seriously, I'm not even joking. Eating this way as well as managing my stress was a real life saver. I realised when I was researching about IBS and the FODMAP diet that there wasn't much information in regards to recipes and inspiration. So this is what has led me to creating @fodmapfiend on Instagram as well as this website! I want to share my experience with others going through a similar situation, as well as inspire and bring awareness to IBS related symptoms. So that's my journey and little story about how I got to where I am today! Hopefully you'll follow my journey so we can beat IBS together! Tiffany x |
